Agrare is a performance trio consisting of Lotta Melin, Hild Sofie Tafjord and Maja Solveig Kjelstrup Ratkje. Agrare can be experienced as a free improvisation group or as a group performing a composed piece, as our new performance "carrying our ears and eyes in small bags". But the overall inspiration is always the same: Music and motion is created and performed as one, strong expression, impossible to separate, absurd in its originality and literary references, dense or open in colour, texture or volume.
Hild Sofie Tafjord from Norway is a leading performer on French horn and electronics in improvised music. She is known from the groups SPUNK and Fe-mail.
Maja Solveig Kjelstrup Ratkje from Norway is also known from the groups SPUNK and Fe-mail. She is a composer and improvising musician. She has written many pieces for small and big ensembles, and she has released noise and improvised music on numerous obscure labels. Her main instrument is her voice.
Lotta Melin from Sweden launched the term 'choreography' for her work with physical movement with her background as a modern dancer as a point of departure. She is an improvising dancer and musician and has collaborated with people from different fields, for example; Jaap Blonk, Sonic Youth and many more.
